If you have a small apartment then chance are, you are actually having problems with how you can exercise in your own home.
But you have nothing to worry about, because there are simple exercises that you can do at home even with little space. However before you do so, you must assign some space in your house or apartment dedicated solely for this purpose. Most of these exercises are designed for Work at Home moms who have no time to go to the gym.
These are exercises that you may do at home even with limited space. After all, a limited space should not limit our imagination.
Since you are doing it at home, you may start by just buying compact exercise tools and machines.
Brisk Walking on a Treadmill
If you have a budget for a treadmill, you may want to invest on it. Safely placed in a corner of the room, this machine does not actually take-up that much space. Start by walking at a slow pace then continue to work on your speed during the next days or weeks.
Riding a Stationary Bike
This is also on the more expensive side but riding a stationary bike can be done at the comfort of your own home. It also can be placed at a safe corner and it will also not take so much space.
For less expensive materials, we also have exercises for them too.
Use of Dumbbells
These can be used for strength training and you may start with your biceps and triceps. Using dumbbells, is actually very easy. You may then proceed with other muscles groups like your calfs.
Just remember to place them in a safe place so your little ones will not play them because dome of them look like toys. They might get hurt if they do.
Skipping is actually a good exercise for your heart. It can burn lots of calories and the impact on your bones will also strengthen them. Aside from that, you will find yourself more mentally alert because you are actually trying to be more synchronized with the beat to be able to do this task efficiently.
Toning Muscles Using Stability Ball
These balls are made of tough materials and can help strengthen your abdominal muscles. They can be equivalent for hamstring exercises and bench presses in regular gyms.
An example of a stability exercise is this:
This is one exercise with a stability ball that target your transverse abs. This will make the core muscles stable. Here you are going to do some planks. Begin this exercise by kneeling in front of a Swiss Ball, forearms on the ball, legs are behind, stretched in a nice straight line. Roll the ball forward using your arms in slow motion while you inhale air and then draw it back towards you as you exhale. You must focus on the exercise so that the hands are moving but your core region is not. Do fifteen repetitions for this set.
Strength Training Using Resistance Bands
They have weights and are actually like dumbbells but can provide more resistance to tone your muscles. One exercise you can do is lat pulldown. Just look for a high bar or even a hook that you can wrap your band around to. Kneel down with your face on the band and hold on to the handles. Maintain your back at a straight position while your shoulders down and back. Pull the handles towards your chest and exhale. Do not forget to squeeze your shoulder blades together. Inhale as you return your arms to the beginning position. Perform 3 sets of 15 repetitions.
A mat is a very simple tool to have some stretching exercises. If you want to level up some more, you may try doing yoga. Just remember to pick a silent place in your house that can accommodate a regular mat for one person.
With this particular exercise, you probably may not need to buy anything. Just turn on your radio or if you want a more personal time, listen songs in your mp3 player–this could also be your phone or your laptop. Just pick the most upbeat songs to inspire you into dancing.
So, you know that having a small space is actually not a valid reason for you to say that you cannot exercise at home.
