Top Tips for Moms Who Want to Get Fit

Busy moms struggle to find time for fitness. And who can blame them? They have to juggle time caring for the children, doing the household chores, and attending to workplace demands. Some moms would rather rest instead of working out during the few instances that they find idle time.

However, fitness should be a top concern for mothers. Not only would regular exercise help them stay in shape, but it can also help them ward off illnesses as they age. The following are some tips that you should remember if you really want to be a fit mom:

Exercise in the morning

One of the best ways to stay fit is to work out early in the morning, like 4 or 5 in the morning. During this time of the day, there should be no distractions to prevent you from exercising. The kids should still be asleep, and your boss won’t call you for a meeting.

You can enroll at 24 Hour Fitness if you want to make the most of your time. Even a quick run around your village should help you stay fit.

Include your kids

Do you often use your kids as an excuse not to exercise? If you really don’t want to leave your little ones behind, why don’t you include your kids in your workout? After all, children love to move so they will likely love being with you as you work out with resistance bands, or skip rope.

Eventually, your workouts with the kids will become your bonding time. It is not uncommon to see parents running with their children during weekends.

Allot 15 minutes for quick workouts

If your schedule is overflowing, try to squeeze in at least 15 minutes for strength or cardio training. For instance, you can do basic body weight exercises like planks, squats, and push-ups while the kids are eating. Or you can get on the treadmill for 20 minutes before the kids get home.

Audit your schedule

Take some time to look at your weekly schedule. There should be an hour or so that you can allot for your workouts. Maybe you’re spending too much on Facebook? Why don’t you allot that time for your home exercises.

Walk whenever possible

You can make walking part of your workout program. Instead of taking the mass rail transit system, why don’t you just walk on your way home? Don’t hesitate to take the stairs when at work. These simple things can help you stay fit.
