Staying Happy at the Gym
Here are some tips on how you can enjoy your workout time at the gym:
Don’t fall into the trap of looking at your packed schedule and seeing that you’ve only got 10 minutes to spare that you shouldn’t bother completing your workout.
So, rather than automatically doing the motions of a 30 minute workout, why not use a timer in determining the time you need to spend in each individual phase of your workout?
It also doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to put in 30 minutes just to get the results that you want. There are also a number of health benefits in performing three minutes of high intensity exercises.
This fact is confirmed by a study which revealed that, 3 minutes of intense exercises, if done as a part of a 30 minute workout for one week, will result in considerable health improvement.
Therefore, if you only have 10 minutes to spare, you can choose to run on the treadmill, or push the pedal of the stationary bike. Just as little as 5 minutes intense exercise each day on a consistent basis will get you back on track.
Do Your Exercises Alternately
When was the last time you went outside your workout mode? If you have not done this lately, perhaps it’s time for you to try something new. Just like the warm feeling you get when you meet someone new, you will also feel the same warmth when you try some moves that are not part of your normal workout routine.
Try some exercise moves that you feel are more fun to do. The point is: if you don’t allow yourself to be tied up in one thing, you will keep that excitement going for a long time.
You are Only Human
When the doldrums set in, it is time to remind yourself that you are only human. Despondency, discouragement and frustration are experienced by everybody. It is how a person reacts to these feelings that define their character.
